What To Do If Your Tattoo Is Infected
If you have a tattoo that becomes infected here is a short list of what you should do immediately:
  • Go see your doctor a.s.a.p. He or she will probably give you some antibiotics to help the healing process along.
  • Try not to get the infected tattoo wet, cover it up when taking a shower or bath. Getting infected tattoos wet is strongly advised against as it prevents proper healing in a timely manner.
  • Keep tattoo clean and A&D ointment applied on it.
How Did My Tattoo Get Infected?
There are a couple of different scenarios which your latest tattoo could become infected. If your tattoo artist did not clean all his tattoo equipment properly and with the right type of cleansing products, there is a good chance for getting an infected tattoo. Another way of getting an infected tattoo is because of the tattoo needle going to deep. The tattoo artist may have went too deep and this can cause an infection.
